September 2, 2020

Aliphos did not survive the Ecophos Group bankruptcy, the company announced on Linkedin.

Ecophos® was a Belgian producer of phosphorous products since 1996 by Mohamed Takhim and based in Louvain-la-Neuve and acquired Aliphos from Tessenderlo Chemie in 2014. In March 2020, Ecophos filed for bankruptcy and Prayon acquired parts of its assets including Technophos.

Aliphos was the feed ingredients division of the Ecophos Group. Aliphos was the largest producer of inorganic feed phosphates for animal feeds in Europe marketed under the Aliphos® and Windmill® brand names. Aliphos range was produced at modern, ISO 9001 and GMP+ certified plants in Vlaardingen in the Netherlands, Varna in Bulgaria and Dunkirk in France. “As of today, the Rotterdam and Dunkirk plants have not been taken over,” the announcement said.
