Speakers confirmed for IFFO conference

Speakers for the upcoming 57th IFFO Annual Conference have now been confirmed. They include Andy Bing (Loch Duart), Christian Martin (DSM), John Connelly (National Fisheries Institute USA, Ray Hilborn (University of Washington), Willie Loh (Cargill) and George Chamberlain (GAA). Presentations will focus on the latest market trends, nutrition benefits of animal and aquatic feeds, the use of by-products and much more.

Speakers for the upcoming 57th IFFO Annual Conference have now been confirmed. They include Andy Bing (Loch Duart), Christian Martin (DSM), John Connelly (National Fisheries Institute USA, Ray Hilborn (University of Washington), Willie Loh (Cargill) and George Chamberlain (GAA). The conference will be held at the Marriott Marquis hotel in Washington DC from Monday October 23rd to Wednesday October 25th. 

There are currently 183 delegates from 26 countries registered to attend from across the marine ingredients and feed industries. Presentations will focus on the latest market trends, nutrition benefits of animal and aquatic feeds, the use of by-products and much more. Leading scientist Ray Hilborn will present on the latest developments in managing small pelagic fisheries, FAO senior statistician Stefania Vannuccini will cover the latest trends in the global aquaculture supply, while GAA’s George Chamberlain will report on the role of marine ingredients in feed.

While marine ingredients remain the best source of protein and oil for animal feed, alternatives ingredients are getting closer to commercialisation. Speakers Willie Loh and Lorin DeBonte from Cargill will give insights into the novel sources of Omega-3 and the commercial reality, while DSM’s Christian Martin will present on EPA+DHA rich algal oil.
