This coming April 25 and 26, Panama City will host the Ninth Nicovita MÁS Symposium. This event, which is expected to attract nearly 300 aquaculture industry professionals, will include talks by 12 noted speakers. One of these speakers will be Google’s Country Manager for Central America, Giovanni Stella, who will discuss the Google Innovation Lab, Google’s innovation process, and some of the best practices applicable to different economic activities.

Also scheduled to speak is Dr. Hein Van Der Steen, a board member of Performance Genomics, Inc., who will talk about genetic improvement in shrimp. Dr. Van Der Steen will be followed by Alisson Kopf, CEO & Founder of Agrilyst; Dr. Dean Akiyama, an aquaculture consultant for the Asian market; and Dr. Bruno Gómez Gil, a researcher at the CIAD in Mexico, among others.

Sponsored by DSM, Alltech, Montana, and National Renderers Association, Inc. of Latin America, the ninth edition of this event will focus on technology and innovation as applied to shrimp farming requirements. As the launch of Nicosoft and the Nicovita app have made clear, these two aspects are essential to the company’s strategy. Given this focus, the format of this year’s event will be different, calling for a MORE active participation by attendees so that the topics addressed in this Symposium will resound far beyond the two days of scheduled talks.

The purpose behind the Symposium is to provide a space where producers and experts from around the world can explore opportunities that contribute to the development, competitiveness, and sustainability of their businesses and the industry as a whole. With over 12 internationally renowned speakers, the idea is to provide powerful technical, commercial, and strategic tools to achieve MORE profitability.

“With these symposiums, we are able to offer a space for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experience in the aquaculture sector. We will also be using this space to launch our new Nicosoft tool,” notes Vitapro general manager Hugo Carrillo. “Our business model at Nicovita is based not only on research and development, but on sharing our knowledge with our clients. This is what gives Nicovita a winning business formula in the long run,” the executive adds.

The symposium will take place April 25 and 26, 2018 at Megápolis Convention Center, Panama City, Panama. For more information contact: nicovita@vitapro.com.pe.
