APA18 conference wrap up

The Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2018 (APA18), which took place last month at the Taipei Convention Center, included 40 sessions on aquaculture and was attended by approximately 2,000 participants from 48 countries. APA18 featured a conference, aquaculture sessions, business meetings, tradeshows and farm tours.  Session topics included aquafeed, shrimp culture, fish disease, environment biodiversity and climate change, and tilapia health.

The Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2018 (APA18), which took place last month at the Taipei Convention Center, included 40 sessions on aquaculture and was attended by approximately 2,000 participants from 48 countries.

APA18 featured a conference, aquaculture sessions, business meetings, tradeshows and farm tours.  Session topics included aquafeed, shrimp culture, fish disease, environment biodiversity and climate change, and tilapia health. There were 445 abstracts with 295 oral presentations and 150 posters presented.

The plenary session on April 24 featured a presentation by Dr. Ching Fong Chang titled “Introduction to the conference theme Aquauculture Innovation Sustainability and Food Safety,\"  followed by  “New Insights in Microbial Management to make intensive aquaculture more sustainable,\" presented by Dr. Peter De Schryver.

The event was organized through the joint efforts of the National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU), APA18 steering committee, and the World Aquaculture Society – Asian Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC). APA19 will take place June 19-21, 2019 at Chennai Trade Center, Chennai, India.
