The World Aquaculture Society is planning to re-launch its journal for its triennial meeting, Aquaculture 2016, which takes place from February 22-26, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The re-launch of the Journal will include its re-structuring to create three sections (new science with potential to lead to either new aquaculture businesses or improved efficiency of existing aquaculture businesses; technological advances ready for adoption by aquaculture businesses; and review papers of critical and timely topics in aquaculture), a new cover design, and a re-structuring of the editorial board. The Journal also has a new editor, Dr Carole Engle.

Nominations are now open for the editorial board, both for three paid section editor positions and to serve as members of the editorial board. Summaries of expectations and nomination forms for both can be found here, or by contacting the Dr Engle

The editorial board will include a mix of expertise contributing to aquaculture science, such as nutrition & feeding, fish health, water quality, genetics & breeding, physiology, husbandry, environmental science and social science. Species expertise in shrimp, salmon, tilapia, shellfish, catfish, trout, seaweeds and live larval feeds will be included, as will global representation and thematic areas with implications for growth and development of aquaculture, ie climate change, biodiversity, sustainability, food safety and epidemiology.
