The prestigious Aquafeed Innovation Award 2016 was presented to Kemin Industries (Asia) Pte Ltd during a dinner celebrating Victim Asia’s 25th anniversary in Bangkok in April for its natural bio-emulsifier, Lysoforte Dry for aquaculture use.

It includes lysolecithins that are enriched in certain lyse-phospholipids in a molecule, patented by Kemin Industries Inc, USA. This helps aquafeed producers to partially replace lecithin and saves feed costs, along with improving process efficiency.

Research data confirmed that 1kg of Lysoforte per ton feed can be used to substitute up to 10kg lecithin in shrimp diets without affecting performance - saving between US$2000 and US$3000 per 1000MT of aqua feed.

The independent judges for this award were Dr Dean M. Akiyama, independent consultant from Jakarta; Dr Richard Sullen, technical manager at Ridley AgriProducts, Australia; Yeo Keng Joon, chairman and managing director at Bharat Lucinda Agrifeeds in India; Peter Hutchinson, director ENH Ltd/director Extrusion Co, Auckland, New Zealand; and Dr Warren Dominy, senior technical consultant at Aquafeed.com, Hawaii.

The Aquafeed Innovation Award is presented by Aquafeed.com during the Victam trade shows in Europe and Asia, to recognize the  achievements and contribution of the allied industries to the advancement of aquafeed development ,
