Gold Fin LLC is set to launch their fishmeal plant in the Sultanate of Oman. With years of experience in the fishmeal plant industry in India, the NPM group is moving forward with their expansion strategy utilizing sustainable fishing resources to contribute to the economic growth and community welfare of Sultanate of Oman.

The new plant has a processing capacity of 300 tons per day with provisions for future expansion. The plant employs the latest process technology and a fully automated PLC system, as well as a recycling system for efficient water utilization. The inauguration of the plant is set for November 18, 2017.

The plant is located in the Special Economic Zone, Duqm (SEZAD), which is one of the biggest free zones for fishery industries in the region. SEZAD has been established to achieve ‘Vision 2040,’ the Government of Oman vision for the development and implementation of fisheries and aquaculture. The purpose of the vision is to create a profitable world-class sector that is ecologically sustainable and a net contributor to the economy of Oman. SEZAD has stringent operational norms and the company ensures it is adopting the Best Available Techniques, according to Gold Fin and Group Director, Mr. Muhammed Basheer.

In the fisheries sector, the government aims to raise production from 260,000 tons a year in 2015 to 480,000 tons in 2020. The five-year plan envisages a return of USD 1.9 billion from fishing and fish processing facilities by 2020.

Within a period of six months of becoming operational, the group is planning to obtain European Union export certification and IFFO RS 2017 certification for the plant.
