The world's first insect-fed salmon is now available on the market, ushering in a new era of sustainable aquaculture. 'The Friendly Salmon' is raised on natural and circular proteins made from insects.

Salmon and other fish eat insects in nature and it makes them healthy and tasty. Protix developed the insect-based ProteinX ingredient, and together with their partners have developed a well-balanced feed that entirely replaces fishmeal.

Protix will hold a launch event in Bergen to mark the occasion. The event includes lunch with the visionary chef Christopher Haatuft and is planned on February 27th from 12-3 pm.

At the event, representatives will share the history of Protix and why insect-based feeds are important for the aquaculture industry.
