The one-week Practical Short Course on Feeds, Pet Food and Aqua Feed Extrusion will be presented from February 5-9, 2024 at Texas A&M University in a hybrid format by staff, industry representatives, and consultants.

The program will cover information on different extrusion systems such as dry extruders, single and twin-screw extruders, designing new feed mills and selecting conveying, drying, grinding, conditioning and feed mixing equipment. Current practices for the production of pet foods, aquafeed and full-fat soy meal; recycling byproducts; aquafeed nutrition principles; spraying and coating systems, digests and preservatives; and the use of encapsulated ingredients and preparation of premixes will be reviewed.
