Aquaculture Feed & Nutrition Specialist Technical Services
Tuesday, November 17, 2020
USSEC seeks an individual or organization with expertise specifically in the aquaculture formulation and feed mill technology areas to provide ongoing technical services for approximately 10.5 months (December 15, 2020, to October 31, 2021) with a potential of a recurring yearly contract thereafter.
The contractor will provide technical assistance to aquaculture feed mills, aquaculture producers and other stakeholders as appropriate, on the utilization of high quality, sustainable, aquafeed ingredients that deliver comparative value. Specific topics for instruction and technical assistance include:
- Aquaculture (primarily fish and shrimp) nutrition
- Aquafeed formulation
- Feed manufacturing quality control and equipment operations
- Ingredient purchasing
- Optimizing soy utilization in aquaculture feeds for fish and shrimp.
The contractor will work closely, and primarily, with USSEC’s regional teams in the North Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Americas, Europe and the Middle East and North Africa regions to support USSEC’s ongoing aquaculture projects in these geographies.
The contractor must demonstrate knowledge of the U.S. Soy Sustainability Assurance Protocol (SSAP), have extensive on-the-ground international experience and be well-versed in nutrition requirements for multiple species. While USSEC contracts on a year-on-year basis, the expectation would be to develop an established relationship with recurring contracts over a longer-term period.
