Wenger Manufacturing, Inc., has scheduled a three-day Pet Food Processing Technology course for October 4 - 6, 2005. The seminar will be held at the Wenger Technical Center in Sabetha, Kansas, and is open to any plant management and operations personnel from the pet food industry. Seating is limited to 35 attendees, however, so early reservations are encouraged.

“This seminar provides a blend of classroom and hands-on training for review of extrusion system procedures and theory, while introducing new technologies for product quality and process improvement,” says Brian Plattner, Wenger’s Technical Center Manager. “It is an excellent opportunity for plant managers and operations personnel to learn the latest in extrusion and drying technology.”

Featured topics are:
• Raw material properties and preparation
• Preconditioning technology
• Extrusion processing technology
• Extrusion die and knife technology
• Application of extrusion technology
• Recent advances in extrusion and drying technology
• Maintenance procedures

“The schedule also includes evening socials and dinners, which allow participants to interact with their colleagues in the industry, as well as with Wenger personnel,” Plattner  adds.

The cost for the three-day program is $1,200 per person, which includes the course notes, morning and afternoon breaks, daily lunch and two evening meals.
Attendees are required to make their own hotel reservations and travel arrangements. For more information, contact Wenger at 785-284-2133 or email Brian Plattner at brianp@wenger.com.
