Why should you attend?
This course will highlight recent advances in the understanding of lipid and protein nutrition in finfish. Of special interest will be demonstrations of feed manufacture with alternative ingredients using extrusion processing, laboratory sensory analysis of fillets, and site visits to fish rearing operations.
Course Goals:
• Gain a clearer understanding of the complexities of fish nutrition and health.
• Understand the challenges of identifying successful alternative ingredients.

• Lipid and protein utilization in growth, health and reproduction of finfish
• Feed extrusion and the effects on final product characteristics when using alternative ingredients.
• Evaluation of fillets using physical testing tools and individual’s perceptions of taste and texture

Registration Fee: $1100. Payment in full is due before the start of the course. Registration deadline is April 18, 2011. Course fee includes written materials associated with lectures and laboratory demonstrations, and scheduled refreshment breaks. Hotel rooms and other meals are not included in registration fee.

Course Schedule: On the first day of the workshop, course participants should be in the hotel lobby by 8:00 a.m. for transportation. Sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and adjourn about 5 p.m. every day.
