The first round of the Aquaculture Innovation Challenge has ended with 17 of the initial 56 applications moving on to the second round. The AIC judges had a wide range of innovations and after evaluating the proposals individually, met to discuss each innovation and work towards a consensus, finally deciding which applications to accept.

The Aquaculture Innovation Challenge aims to foster the Indonesian shrimp sector and the organization said that many of these innovations have the potential to do it. Innovations looking at improving feed and feed conversion, disease mitigation, farm process optimization and more will move forward.

The 17 innovators will provide more details about the practical implementation, business case and positive impact of their idea give judges a more in-depth understanding of their innovations.
