Since 2020, Salmofood has been hosting Conecta, a series of events focused on different topics that concern the salmon farming industry. The next in the series will be Conecta Sanitario, focused on gill health and probiotics, a virtual event that will take place on May 27. The event is part of the 2021 training series and will be aimed at all audiences, but focused on the Chilean aquaculture industry and worldwide.

Two international specialists will join the event together with Sergio Castillo, head of Nutrition of Vitapro Chile.

Barbara Nowak, assistant dean of the Faculty of Research Sciences and Engineering of the University of Tasmania, will talk about gill health in fish, why this condition has increased and what can be done to prevent it.

Fanny Giudicelli, an international expert, will discuss the importance of the use of probiotics highlighting their use to prevent gill diseases in aquaculture.

Sergio Castillo, head of nutrition of Vitapro Chile, will unveil the most recent results of the tests on the nutritional supplements Block Recover that Salmofood offers to its customers. Castillo will present this nutritional supplement developed at CEA, which allows fish to have a defense and repair mechanism against attacks caused by microalgae.

“Through Conecta we create a bridge between world-renowned experts with local and international industry leaders so that a collaborative knowledge transfer is generated on topics such as leadership, innovation and sustainability,” said business manager of Vitapro Chile, Ernesto Passalacqua.
