Kentucky’s Governor Ernie Fletcher formally dedicated Alltech’s new international headquarters in Lexington on June 8, 2005. Governor Fletcher, accompanied by Alltech President and Founder Dr. Pearse Lyons, Mrs. Deirdre Lyons and Alltech CFO Nathan Hohman, cut the ribbon on the 56,000-square-foot building.

“Alltech is a great example of a major commitment to making Kentucky a significant competitor in the global economy,” stated Governor Fletcher. “The Company represents the things Kentucky stands for: marching into biotechnology, creating high-tech jobs, and growing this field in the state.”

“Kentucky represents an ideal location for our business,” said Dr. Lyons. “When people think about Kentucky, we want them to think about improving animal and human health. We want people to think about the possibilities of advances like nutrigenomics. Alltech wants health and nutrition to be the next cash crop of Kentucky.”

Dr. Lyons went on to explain his vision for the growth of Alltech. “In the next five years, our goal is to exceed the total agricultural exports for the state of Kentucky, combined.”

The 56,000-square-foot facility, located outside Lexington contains offices for administration, legal, finance, IT, marketing, regulatory, and sales departments. It is Alltech’s global headquarters for offices in 85 countries around the world.

Alltech’s headquarters is also home to its North American Bioscience Center. This 10,000-square-foot research laboratory is one of three global research facilities, the others being near Dublin, Ireland and Beijing, China. It is also where Alltech’s latest research findings, including those with major implications for human health, are taking place.

2005 marks Alltech’s 25th year in the animal feed and food business. In the span of those 25 years, Alltech’s presence has grown into a multinational company with offices and distributors in 85 countries and more than 1,500 employees around the world. Alltech recently held its 21st Annual Feed Industry Symposium in Lexington, which was attended by more than 1,500 people from 69 countries.
