Cloud solution improves information interchange in feed industry

Adifo launches BESTMIX® Formulation as a service platform
January 30, 2013

Nutrition software supplier Adifo has launched a cloud-based collaborative platform as an extension to BESTMIX®, their profit-driven feed formulation and recipe management system. The extension platform is set to revolutionize information interchange between nutritionists  and the outside world, to the benefit of all parties involved, including feed advisors, external partners and customers, the company said.

The Formulation as a Service solution – securely implemented in the cloud – gives users online access to part of a nutrition company’s BESTMIX®database. Users can retrieve minute-precise market data, rely on up-to-date equations and use state-of-the-art formulation functionality at any time.

They can also record project or customer-specific data such as purchase costs and specifications.

Adifo has pioneered a new way of working which will dramatically improve the collaborative interaction between all parties in the nutrition company’s value chain. For example:

Account managers and independent consultants will simulate adaptations to recipes to meet specific customer demands and evaluate immediately the cost impact of their adaptations.

Internal departments such as marketing, sales and quality assurance will produce their own data and reports without compromising core data.

External interested parties will be able to sign knowledge contracts with the nutrition company and take advantage of nutritional know-how.

Research centres will want to use the system to unlock their nutritional knowledge to interested parties all over the world.

The formulation department can learn about evolving customer preferences by analyzing adaptations made by the client.

The Formulation as a Service platform has the additional advantage of being easy to set up and use. There are no worries for the customer; the solution even eliminates the need for setting up and maintaining dedicated laptops for account managers or consultants. What’s more, Adifo backs up the data and updates the software continuously, leaving the customer carefree.

This Formulation As A Service platformwas launched and demonstrated for the first time at The 2013 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which opened its doors in Atlanta, GA, USA, January 29, 2013.

With more than 1,180 exhibitors and more than 430,000 net square feet of exhibit space, the 2013 IPPE  is one of the world’s largest annual poultry, feed and meat trade shows. Comprised of the three integrated tradeshows - International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo, and AMI’s International Meat Expo – IPPE is expected to welcome more than 25,000 attendees over three days.
