As several events continue to be postponed, moved online or canceled altogether as a result of COVID-19 concerns in the United States, Texas A&M University (TAMU) announced that its 27th Annual Practical Short Course on Aquaculture Feed Extrusion, Nutrition and Feed Management will be held virtually from August 31 to September 4, 2020.
The one-week course will be presented live online by staff, industry representatives and consultants. This program will cover information on designing new feed mills and selecting conveying, drying, grinding, conditioning and feed mixing equipment. Current practices for preparing full-fat soy meal processing; recycling fisheries byproducts, raw material, extrusion of floating, sinking, and high fat feeds; spraying and coating fats, digests and preservatives; the use of encapsulated ingredients and preparation of premixes, nutritional requirements of warm water fish and shrimp, feed managements and low-cost formulation will be reviewed.
