Zeigler Bros. Inc. is looking for a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager. Reporting to the Director of Nutrition and Quality, the primary responsibilities of this position are providing technical direction, guidance, and support to the quality assurance and food safety department, and staff of technicians at all facilities.
This position will oversee the implementation and establishment of proper controls and procedures, ensuring the manufacture of safe, quality products that meet customer, feed regulatory, and Zeigler Bros., Inc. requirements. This position has direct communication with customers, including but not limited to audits, pilot manufacturing, complaints, new products, and specification changes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in a related discipline (Food Science, Animal Science, Biological
- Sciences, etc.) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in a related feed/food processing environment
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience of multi-shift FSQA department
- Complete familiarity with Regulatory requirements (UDSA-FSIS, FSMA, APHIS and FDA).
- Strong leadership experience and proven skills in evaluating and implementing strategies that improve overall quality and profitability
- Develop and implement of FSQA policies, program, and procedures
- Able to prioritize high-level assignments and work independently
- Possess strong analytical skills, including problem solving and critical thinking
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to sustain exposure to dust, noise, heat and cold. Exposure to dangerous machinery and other hazardous conditions requiring adherence to PPE, safety rules and procedures at all times. Must be able to walk, stand, climb, and reach on a continuous basis. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to pass a job-related pre-employment physical and drug screening.
