APA17 confirms plenary speakers

APA17 organizers Asian-Pacific Chapter World Aquaculture Society and Malaysia Fisheries Society have announced that the event\'s second plenary speaker will be Dr. Mazuki Bin Hashim, Senior Director of Fisheries Biosecurity Division for the Department of Fisheries Malaysia. He will be presenting about the topic “What can Malaysia offer to expand aquaculture?” which is directly linked to the theme of APA 17, Transforming for Market Needs. Organizers previously confirmed that Mr. Herve Lucien-Brun from Aquaculture & Qualite in France will be the first plenary speaker at this year\'s event.

Dr. Mazuki Bin Hashim has a Ph.D from the National University of Malaysia. He has Bachelor Degree in Agribusiness and Diploma of Fisheries Science from the University of Agriculture Malaysia. With more than 38 years of experience in three aquaculture sectors, Mazuki is a advocate of aquaculture development in the country. He was Director of Aquaculture Development Division (2014-2016), Head of Sectoral Planning (2012-2014), Head of Investment and Technical Advisory (2008-2012) and Senior Fisheries Officer (2005-2008). Department of Fisheries Malaysia. He is also a member of the Steering Committee for Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2017 (APA2017).

Sessions at the APA17 will cover all aspects of aquaculture within Malaysia and the region. The Malaysian Farmers sessions, on July 25th will be organized by Department of Fisheries and Malaysian Fisheries Society. Five outstanding experts from Asia Pacific have been invited to present their advance research developments on Shrimp and treatment on the special Farmer’s day program “The Advanced Research Developments on Shrimp Culture” organized by Sheng Long Bio-Tech International Co., Ltd from 13:30-17:20 at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
