The European Aquaculture Society is pleased to announce its Aquaculture Europe 2009 conference, taking place in Trondheim, Norway, from August 14-17, just prior to the Aqua Nor exhibition.

Theme and Sessions

Aquaculture Europe 2009 addresses the theme of "New Research Frontiers" - looking at how to re-organise future aquaculture research, to reduce overlap and better use new technologies and developments. The AE2009 Plenary speakers will address key issues, including:
    - Blue Biotechnology where next? Presented by Jan Olafsen, University of Tromso, Norway 
    - "Technological challenges and opportunities in meeting future industry requirements" Presented by Arne Fredheim, SINTEF, Norway
    - The role of microbiota in aquaculture target organisms and their environment Presented by Peter Bossier, Ghent University, Belgium
    - New molecular biology applications and technological improvements in fish breeding Presented by Odd Magne Rdseth, AquaGen, Norway
    - The Strategic Research Agenda of the European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform Presented by Courtney Hough, EATIP
