IFFO will host its Members Meeting from May 2-3, 2023 in Madrid, Spain. With more than 170 delegates already registered, attendance will exceed previous records.
The program includes two market forums, a challenges and opportunities session and a buffet dinner.
The Market Demand session will cover changes in the feed sector (Alltech) and salmon farming (Pareto Securities) as well as an update on the omega-3 market (GOED), fish oil trade (Holtermann AS) and China market (IFFO). Worker welfare in the marine ingredients sector will be discussed with an update on MarinTrust’s marine ingredients factory standard (MarinTrust and Austral Group).
The Supply of Marine Ingredients session will offer a general panorama of agri-commodities, a deep dive into fishmeal/fish oil global and regional market trends as well as an update on mesopelagic fisheries. Market Forum Supply is only open to delegates who are producer members or premium non-producer members of IFFO.
Taking a technical and regulatory lens, the Challenges and Opportunities forum will look at the novel ingredients story. Fishmeal and fish oil remain benchmarks for fish nutrition, being a balanced, highly digestible and palatable feed ingredient, rich in essential omega-3s, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, available at 6 million metric tons a year. With seafood production expected to increase by 32% by 2030, 30-40 million tons of additional ingredients are needed to complement marine ingredients. The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) will provide an overview of novel ingredients in famed salmon while BioMar will bring a feed industry perspective. Discussions will then focus on corn fermented protein (Green Plains Inc), insect protein (Innovafeed) and CO2-based feed ingredients (Deep Branch).
This meeting is only open to IFFO Members. Registration is open until April 21, 2023. Simultaneous interpretation from English to Spanish will be provided. For more information, visit www.iffo.com/members-meeting-2023.
