VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific together with Minh Vi Exhibition & Advertisement Services launched ILDEX Myanmar 2012 for the first time to create a new platform for the livestock and fisheries industry to tap into the emerging growth possibilities in Myanmar. The exhibition, which will run from 7-8 December 2012 at the Ministry of Livestock & Fisheries, will provide a unique business opportunity for both sellers and buyers in the livestock and fisheries industry.
The economic development of the livestock and fishery sector is expected to experience rapid growth over the new few years in line with a fresh wave of economic reforms in the rapidly changing country and the government’s aspired goal to triple its per capita GDP in five years.
The government estimates Myanmar’s economic growth is will be around 7.7% a year, faster than the IMF or the Asian Development Bank’s estimates, which are closer to 6% a year. The high goal reflects the government’s challenge to improve the lives of Myanmar’s 60 million citizens, who are among the poorest in Asia with a per capital GDP of around $1,300.
