The 22nd International Symposium on Fish Nutrition and Feeding (ISFNF XXII) has opened the call for abstracts. Topics include: nutritional requirements, feeding and digestive physiology, broodstock and larval nutrition, feeding management, sustainable raw materials and additives, emerging ingredient and feed technologies, climate resilience, animal health and welfare, seafood quality and food system. Deadline is November 16, 2025.

ISFNF XXII will take place at the Darwin Convention Centre, Northern Territory, Australia, from May 18-21, 2026. Set in Australia’s tropical north, Darwin offers spectacular natural landscapes, including Kakadu, Litchfield, and Nitmiluk National Parks, alongside the rich cultural and artistic traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples.

The international conference will bring together leading researchers, industry experts, and policymakers from around the world to share the latest advances in aquaculture nutrition and feeding. It also provides an unparalleled opportunity to showcase Australia’s $2 billion aquaculture industry, led by the nation's largest and most advanced salmon sector alongside tropical strengths in barramundi, shrimp, and other emerging fed tropical species such as grouper, black jewfish, pompano, and mudcrab, to name a few, and further diversity from established fed species including abalone, Murray cod, yellowtail kingfish, cobia, freshwater perch and crayfish.

Conference chair and CSIRO research scientist, Cedric Simon, emphasized the importance of ISFNF 2026. “CSIRO looks forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to share the latest research and innovations in aquatic animal nutrition and feeding. Choosing Darwin as the host city gives us an opportunity to highlight Australia’s tropical aquaculture industry, and to strengthen links with our neighbors in Southeast Asia, a global hub of aquaculture activity.”

The ISFNF 2026 will provide a vital platform for international collaboration, showcasing research on sustainable feedstocks and innovative nutritional solutions for the aquaculture industry.
