The Peruvian Ministry of Production (Produce) established a quota of 2.792 million tons for the first anchovy season in the north-central zone.
Produce authorized exploratory fishing for 15 days, beginning on May 4, to update the distribution and size structure of the anchovy stock. “Once the exploratory fishing is completed, the first fishing season will begin,” said the minister.
Last year’s anchovy quota for this season was 2.509 million.
