Cargill Completes Acquisition of Burris Mill & Feed

Cargill Animal Nutrition, Minneapolos, MN, U.S.,  today announced that it has completed the purchase of the assets of Burris Mill & Feed, Inc. in Franklinton, LA, U.S.

“We are really looking forward to working with Bob and David Burris, along with their entire team, to build on their success and serve the growing aquaculture industry,” said John Peppel, vice president of Cargill Animal Nutrition.  Cargill manufactures aquaculture products primarily in Latin America and Asia, but also has several production sites in the United States.

Bob and David Burris will remain with the business as Cargill employees.  “They have built a focused business that can grow with Cargill resources,” Peppel said.

Cargill will acquire the Burris brand in the acquisition.  “We are glad that the Burris name will be carried on with the new organization,” Bob Burris said. 

David Burris said: “The Burris name carries a legacy of over 100 years of quality and service to the Burris organization and its customers. We are truly excited about being able to continue to grow the Burris brand and expand its presence around the world.  The joining of Burris and Cargill positions Cargill Animal Nutrition to be a premiere aquaculture solutions company around the world.”
