Following the recent opening of the first fish feed plant in Vijayawada, Cargill has opened its Technology Application Center (TAC) in Kaikaluru.
The center is designed to help farmers access innnovative solutions, grow healthy fish and increase revenue.
The center encompasses 3.60 hectares and 20 fish and shrimp ponds. It also features a training facility and research station that supports innovation in aquatic feed development.
“India is an important and fast-growing aquaculture market,\" said Chad Gauger, Managing Director of Cargill’s aquaculture nutrition business in South Asia. \"This center will enable Cargill to speed up the pace of product development and deliver better feed solutions to shrimp and fish farmers alongside our new fish feed plant in Vijayawada and our shrimp feed plant in Rajamahendravaram. It will enable us to increase our support for India’s aquaculture industry.”
The center will also serve to educate and train fish and shrimp farmers in feed application and better management practices, for increased efficiency and profitability.
The company plans to open other new technology application centres in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and India by mid 2018.
