China lifted the suspension of imports for two of the three Ecuadorean shrimp exporters banned in July, Industrial Pesquera Santa Priscila and Empacreci. “After hard work with the Chinese authority, it was found that Ecuador complies with the biosafety and safety protocols,” said Iván Montaneda Berrú, Ministry of Production, on Twitter. It is expected that the third exporter, Edpacif, will get the same result in the coming days after the technical inspection. China has suspended imports from three Ecuadorean shrimp producers after detecting coronavirus in recent shipments.
“The adoption of corrective actions and compliance with rigorous safety and biosafety protocols was verified. The shrimp sector meets high standards that guarantee the quality of our products. We will continue to conquer new markets with the best shrimp in the world,” Montaneda said.
