In the last few years, the number of aquaculture feed mills in Vietnam using US soybean meal in aquaculture feed production has risen, as USSEC continues to provide technical information and support.

A recent technical seminar in Ho Chi Minh City organized by USSEC, highlighted the superior quality of US soybean meal, compared to that of other origins, in terms of nutrient values, growth performance and lower costs of feed per kilogram of weight gain.

US soybean meal provides a superior amino acid profile and amino acid digestibility, increased metabolisable energy, lower fibre content, higher total phosphorus, and greater uniformity among batches. Although the cost of US soybean meal may be slightly higher than soybean products from other origins, its superior nutritional value can produce improved profitability through ration efficiency and lower feeding costs.

USSEC believes that with the fast growth rate of Vietnam’s aquaculture sector, the demand for US. soybean meal will continue to grow in that country.
