GMP+ 2006: completely revised scheme

From January 1, 2006 the Product Board Animal Feed (PDV) will be applying a completely revised GMP+certification scheme
December 20, 2005

From January 1, 2006 the Product Board Animal Feed (PDV) will be applying a completely revised GMP+certification scheme: GMP+ 2006. The system has been entirely revised based on:
• new HACCP certification for food production;
• implementation of the IFSA-standard for feed production;
• EU animal feed hygiene directives that come into force on 1st January.
In the new GMP+, duplicate inspections have been removed and the GMP standards reduced from 35 to 10 through merging production standards based on the activity instead of on product. The transport standard has been retained, but is now subdivided into road transport, inland waterways, hygiene code inland waterways, sea freight and rail transport.
There are now nearly 6,500 GMP participants worldwide. They are audited by a total of 341 certification bodies.
