The purpose of the vision is to create a profitable world-class sector that is ecologically sustainable and a net contributor to the economy of Oman. SEZAD has stringent operational norms and the company ensures it is adopting the Best Available Techniques, according to Gold Fin and Group Director, Mr. Muhammed Basheer.
In the fisheries sector, the government aims to raise production from 260,000 tons a year in 2015 to 480,000 tons in 2020. The five-year plan envisages a return of USD 1.9 billion from fishing and fish processing facilities by 2020.
