Five groups of fish farmers from Kisii County in Kenya will benefit from receiving fish feed processing machines from Kisii County government.
The development is part of efforts to reduce the cost of fish production and ensure farmers earn better returns from their fish farming investments.
According to Kisii County Director of Fisheries Edwin Muga, the machines will be distributed to the groups once they have received training in feed processing and entrepreneurship skills.
The county government\'s initiative is driven by the feed challenge facing commercial fish farmers in the region, which puts off many potential fish farmers from venturing into fish farming as an agri-business venture.
