Emivest Bhd, one of Malaysia's top three feedmillers, plans to expand its activities into aquaculture feeds, which it sees as having good growth potential and higher profit margins.
With feed production of 30,000 /month, Emivest has an estimated 13% share of the country's feed market. It has recently invested in a vitamin and mineral premix plant, due for completion next year and plans to build its own storage facilities. The company recently achieved main board listing status on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
Lee Lai Hock, Emivest's Finance manager says the company is looking into aquafeed production as well as overseas ventures, in Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia, where he sees high growth potential.
