Nicovita, a brand of the multilatin company Vitapro, launched Impulso N, an integrated feeding solution for the shrimp grow-out stage. The presentation took place within the framework of Aqua Expo Internacional.
This system drives productive efficiency in the most extensive and decisive phase of the cycle, where the producer's most significant investment is concentrated, but also the highest risks, such as sanitary, environmental, and operational, among others.
Impulso N represents the consolidation of a strategic route that Nicovita began in 2024, aimed at addressing the new challenges of modern aquaculture and contributing to the development of the industry that produces the world's best shrimp.
Furthermore, it incorporates new approaches such as the importance of committing to the development of animal resilience in an increasingly volatile environmental setting, and also leveraging the value of incorporating technology, particularly mobile automatic feeding, to achieve precision feeding. All of this to support local producers in their pursuit of greater yields, profitability, and sustainable results.
“Our commitment is to support producers with integral solutions that drive the efficiency and sustainable growth of their crops. In 2024, we took the first step with Inicio N, our integral system for the initial cultivation phase. Today, with Impulso N, we continue that mission in the grow-out stage, incorporating the best we have in research and development, as well as the experience we gain from participating in the shrimp and fish categories throughout Latin America,” highlighted Allan Cooper, Director of Strategy, Marketing, and Value Creation at Vitapro.
Impulso N brings together all of Nicovita's experience, which has been in the Ecuadorian market for more than 35 years. The innovation is based on four key pillars that will take grow-out shrimp production to the next level.
Dynamic and functional nutrition
The proposal incorporates an evolved, versatile, and adaptable portfolio for different productive realities. These solutions go beyond traditional nutrition by incorporating functional packages that promote sustained shrimp growth, strengthen their resistance to stress, and improve cost per pound, ensuring the profitability of the production cycle.
Animal health care and resilience
Nicovita promotes programs that integrate therapeutic nutritional solutions and specialized advice on animal health care, with the aim of promoting survival and environmental care.
Among the main novelties is Térap Forte, a solution developed to combat vibriosis and reduce mortality rates within 7 days under highly challenging environmental conditions.
“At Nicovita, we believe that innovating goes far beyond developing the best feed: it’s about jointly driving the transformation of the industry. That is why every solution we create is born from a deep understanding of the producer, their challenges, and opportunities. We place the client at the center of what we do and seek to accompany them in every decision throughout the cycle with solutions that adapt to their productive strategy. With this, we reiterate that our goal is to be more than suppliers of nutritional solutions; that is why we are constantly evolving to become the trusted ally that accompanies the producer, and we do so hand-in-hand with Impulso N, the force that drives the success of the harvest,” said Kristel Méndez, Marketing Manager.
Specialized advice
With more than 18 years of experience in the grow-out stage, the Nicovita team combines knowledge and technology to offer precise diagnoses and practical recommendations. Their project-based work methodology enables co-creation of adapted strategies, clear objective-setting, and decision-making that drives better results.
Technology and data
The system incorporates a mobile automatic feeding equipment that drives precision feeding and optimizes productive and operational efficiency during grow-out. A single piece of equipment can replace between five and ten fixed feeders. In operation, it achieves coverage of up to 40% of the pond, which represents a reach eight times that of traditional systems. Additionally, its mobility helps maintain soil quality by avoiding localized accumulation of organic matter.
“The trust of producers drives us to continue innovating, understanding their needs, and developing innovations adapted to local reality. Impulso N is a clear example of this,” assured Allan Cooper.
