Professor Yang Yi

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the sudden death of Dr. Yang Yi in the early morning of July 31, 2009.

Dr. Yang Yi was a professor in Shanghai Ocean University, President of the Asian Fisheries Society, Shanghai,  and Director, Sichuan Aquacultural Engineering and Technology Research Center Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

Dr. Yang Yi contributed regular updates on aquaculture in China to Aquafeed.com in the form of hisTongwei News newsletter.

Dr. Liu Liping, Associate Professor Aquaculture at Shanghai Ocean University said Yang Yi was surrounded by his family and left peacefully. Funeral arrangements are being made by the university president.
