SPAIN - Professional fisheries and aquaculture organizations receive EUR 700,000 in aid

Andalusia is offering aid worth EUR 698,501 to professional organizations in the sector of fisheries and aquaculture products. This aid is included among measures to promote trade and processing. The objective is to contribute to the achievement of objectives such as the improvement of the common organization of markets for fishery and aquaculture products, and the encouragement of investments in the processing and trade sectors.

The Undersecretariat of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalusia has opened the period for the application for aid, worth EUR 698,501, to professional organizations in the sector of fisheries and aquaculture products.

These aids are included among the measures to promote trade and processing. The objective is to contribute to the achievement of objectives such as the improvement of the common organization of markets for fishery and aquaculture products, and the encouragement of investments in the processing and trade sectors.

These lines of subsidies are contemplated within the framework of the Operational Program of the 2014-2020 European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF). The period for applying for grants ends on May 21.

The first of these aid lines is intended for the preparation and implementation of production and marketing plans for private entities and non-profit entities, for a total amount of EUR 573,501.

The second line is aimed at non-profit entities for the creation and restructuring of professional organizations, allocating a total of EUR 125,000 for this purpose.

One of the requirements of the beneficiaries is to have recognition as an organization of fish producers or as an association of organizations of fishery products, granted by resolution of the Directorate General of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and another one is being registered in the General Register of Fishery Producers\' Organizations and Associations of Fishery Producer Organizations.
