NAA Requested Extension for Comments  on MUMS Indexing

The National Aquaculture Association (NAA)  requested a 30 day extension of the comment period relative to Docket No. 2006N-0067- Index of Legally Marketed Unapproved New Animal Drugs for Minor Animal Species.

NAA was co-founder of the Minor Use and Minor Species (MUMS) Coalition that lobbied Congress to pass the Minor Use and Minor Species Animal Health Act of 2004 and will coordinate comments with our MUMS Coalition partners on the proposed indexing rule.  The current comment request period ends November 20, 2006.

See: FDA Issues Proposed Regulations for MUMS Indexing
FDA is issuing proposed regulations for administrative procedures and criteria for index listing a new animal drug for use in a minor species - a basis for legally marketing an unapproved new animal drug intended for use in a minor species. (Comments invited).
