USDA ARS revises the Aquaculture Action Plan

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has released a revised Aquaculture Action Plan to inform their applied research to benefit US aquaculture over the next five years.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has released a revised Aquaculture Action Plan to inform their applied research to benefit US aquaculture over the next five years. ARS conducts high quality, relevant, fundamental, and applied aquaculture research, to improve the systems for raising domesticated aquaculture species, and to transfer technology to enhance the productivity and efficiency of U.S. producers and the quality of seafood and other aquatic animal products.

The new plan aims at improving the efficiency and sustainability of catfish, salmonids and hybrid striped bass production and enhancing shellfish aquaculture.
