WWF meeting brings stakeholders together to advance sustainable salmon farming

The WWF is hosting a two-day meeting in Vancouver to move toward identifying criteria for the certification of sustainable aquaculture.

These meetings – part of an ongoing, international initiative – bring together a wide range of stakeholders including producers and other members of the market chain, researchers, NGOs, government officials, and investors. According to the WWF, the goal of each dialogue is to identify and discuss:

  • The main environmental impacts of aquaculture
  • Management practices that reduce those impacts to acceptable levels.
