Zapata Corporation, the holding company which currently operates through its majority owned subsidiary, Omega Protein Corporation, the largest fishmeal company in the U.S., has received an unsolicited offer by email. The message came from an outfit identifying itself as Hollingsworth, Rothwell & Roxford, a partnership that is also said to have made a recent bid for Japan's Sony Corporation for more than double the company's market value. It said it would purchase all outstanding Zapata shares for $45 per share. The Zapata Board intends to publicly announce an appropriate response this week.
