Organizers of Aquaculture Europe 2017 have released a summary report of the event. The report contains a wrap-up of the conference, parallel session summaries, and poster awards.

AE2017 was held at the Valamar Lacroma and President Hotels in Dubrovnik, Croatia and attracted a total participation of 1.688 from 62 countries. The trade show presented products and services from 92 exhibitors and had 394 visitors. A total of 437 oral and 356 poster presentations were given during the conference.

The event was opened with welcome addresses from AE2017 Steering Committee chair Ivan Katavic, EAS President Bjorn Myrseth, Vice-President of the Chamber of Economy and “Fish for Croatia” project Ivan Škorić, Dubrovnik Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić and the Croatian Minister of Agriculture Tomislav Tolušić.

The theme of the event was “Cooperation for Growth” and this was addressed by three plenary sessions that paved the way for the parallel sessions of oral and poster presentations derived from a record submission of 752 abstracts. The AE2017 programme co-chairs Snježana Zrnčić (Croatian Vet Institute) and Constantinos Mylonas (HCMR, Greece) orchestrated the session chairs that often had difficult choices in the selection of abstracts for their sessions.
