The report offers a five-course menu of solutions to ensure we can feed 10 billion people by 2050 without increasing emissions, fueling deforestation or exacerbating poverty.
The âWorld Resources Report: Creating a Sustainable Food Futureâ shows that it is possible. The report is the result of a multiyear partnership between World Resources Institute, the World Bank Group, the United Nations Environment Program, the United Nations Development Program, the Centre de coopĂ©ration internationale en recherche agronomique pour le dĂ©veloppement, and the Institut national de la recherche agronomique.
The report offers a five-course menu of solutions to ensure we can feed 10 billion people by 2050 without increasing emissions, fueling deforestation or exacerbating poverty that includes:
- Reduce growth in demand for food and other agricultural products.
- Increase food production without expanding agricultural land.
- Protect and restore natural ecosystems and limit agricultural land-shifting.
- Increase fish supply.
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural production.
