Aquaterra Omega-3 Oil has become a commercial reality for the Chilean aquaculture industry. Aquaterra® set sail this month on a voyage from New Orleans, USA to commercial customers in Chile.

Nuseed's Aquaterra® is derived from Nuseed Omega-3 canola, which is grown in the United States. The harvested seed is collected and processed into finished feed oil in partnership with ADM. Each shipment is carefully prepared for transport from New Orleans, through the Panama Canal, to Chile, where the oil will be included as a partial replacement for fish oil in salmon feed.

Pablo Berner, aquaculture lead of Nuseed, said that “this shipment demonstrates Aquaterra is a real, logistically efficient option in formulating diets rich in omega-3 and provides a cost-efficient complement to marine ingredients.”

“Nuseed's is positioned to increase volumes and contribute to the sustainable growth of the aquaculture industry by advancing the oil mix for feed formulation,” the company said.
