Biochem has been awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis, one of the most trusted providers of sustainability ratings across all industries. This rating highlights Biochem’s commitment to achieving quality products.

Anna Hüttmannsberger, Sustainability Manager at Biochem, stated: “Receiving a silver medal again is a positive acknowledgment for us. This award is recognition of our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices and the work of our employees to make positive impacts.”

Biochem first received an EcoVadis rating in 2017 and has since demonstrated consistent improvement across all four core themes (environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement). In this year’s rating, Biochem scored an overall score of 74, placing the company in the 92nd percentile. EcoVadis identified several of Biochem’s key strengths, including transparency regarding comprehensive policies on ethics and policies addressing environmental, labor, and human rights issues.

EcoVadis medals and badges are awarded to companies that have completed the assessment process and demonstrated strong sustainability to their peers. Ratings provide an evidence-based analysis of performance and an actionable roadmap for continuous improvement across the four core themes.

EcoVadis’ business sustainability ratings are based on international sustainability standards, such as the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and ISO 26,000.

Hüttmannsberger added: “This year’s rating reflects our multifaceted commitment to sustainability. It demonstrates that we have embedded sustainability across all our business processes. We are working every day towards our sustainability ambitions.”
