H J Baker increases aquaculture expertise

Global agriculture firm HJ Baker announced this week that Dr Scott Snyder has joined the company’s Animal Health and Nutrition Division as the Manager of Aquaculture Technical Services. The creation of this new position is part of HJ Baker’s continued commitment in the aquaculture industry.

Global agriculture firm HJ Baker announced this week that Dr Scott Snyder has joined the company’s Animal Health and Nutrition Division as the Manager of Aquaculture Technical Services. The creation of this new position is part of HJ Baker’s continued commitment in the aquaculture industry.

With a Doctor of Philosophy in animal physiology and a diverse industry background, Dr Snyder brings a depth of knowledge and experience to HJ Baker. He spent the prior two years as the director of the early life stage division and fish nutritionist for Clear Springs Foods Inc, where he oversaw hatchery operations, feed ingredient identification and sourcing, formulation, and nutrition research and development.

Dr Snyder also spent three years as an animal nutritionist with Zeigler Bros., Inc. where he researched and developed aqua feeds and formulations produced both domestically and internationally. While at Zeigler, Dr Snyder was awarded a two-phase grant from NOAA to develop an aqua feed manufacturing technology. Dr Snyder also spent six years as a biological science technician for the USDA ARS Trout Grains Project.

“Dr Snyder brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to HJ Baker’s aquaculture business. He is a thoughtful researcher and analyst, who has been published in many aquaculture journals and trade publications, and we welcome his expertise,” said HJ Baker’s Animal Health and Nutrition General Manager Dr Clark Springfield.
