Lallemand Animal Nutrition appoints Pascal Raoul as General Manager

Pascal Raoul

Pascal Raoul, a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine with over twenty years experience of the animal health sector, is taking up his post today as General Manager for Lallemand Animal Nutrition. He succeeds and reports to Olivier Clech in the management of Lallemand Animal Nutrition activities, the latter being overall responsible for the Nutrition business units, as Vice President Human and Animal Nutrition.

Before joining Lallemand, Pascal Raoul spent twenty years with Elanco Animal Health, a division of Eli Lilly and Company, holding various responsibilities both in Europe and in the USA. His nomination and the organisational changes within Lallemand Animal Nutrition result from the fast development of the group’s nutrition activities over the past few years, driven in particular by the momentum gained by probiotics.

“ It is an immense pleasure for us to welcome such an individual as Pascal Raoul in our team,” commented Olivier Clech. “His vision, his extensive knowledge of the international animal health business and his technical expertise as a trained veterinarian, and possibly before all, his personal values fit perfectly our philosophy and  will be a great asset to support our team, our partners and the development of our business.”

Pascal Raoul, combines veterinary medicine and business competencies. He graduated from the Veterinary School in Paris in 1984, and completed these studies with an MBA both in France and in Spain. He started his career as a Trade advisor to the Agriculture Attaché of the French Embassy in Spain. After this, he joined Elanco in France, starting as a sales representative, and from there occupying different positions in Europe, including Country Director. He then moved to the company HQ in Indianapolis (IN, USA) where he spent three years as Global New Product Planning Manager, developing a strategic pipeline for large and companion animal  veterinary products, before returning to Europe as EU Director R&D and Regulatory Affairs. In his last assignment with Lilly, Pascal Raoul was in charge of Transformation projects for the Human Pharma activities of Lilly France.

Pascal Raoul commented: “Lallemand Animal Nutrition today is not the company I used to know, when I was VP of the Feed Additive Trade Association in France (SYNPA): it has grown tremendously, has developed a true global culture, and more than anything else, it has gained respect from more than ever demanding customers. It is a real privilege to be given the opportunity to lead such a performing team, and establish the Lallemand brand as a major player in animal nutrition worldwide.”

Over the past years, the nutrition activities of Lallemand have significantly developed, driven both by innovations in the field of specialized microorganisms applications coming out of the company's R&D pipeline, as well as external acquisitions, meeting the rapid development of the natural health and nutrition market, especially probiotics, in both human and animal nutrition.

The company is organized in Business Units, each dedicated to specific markets. The Human Nutrition and Health Division comprises now four different Business Units. The Animal Nutrition division is organized geographically, with an animal species focus, including aquaculture. It is present in a number of countries around the world, covering the five continents.
