Neopharma Japan signed an exclusive sales contract with Thai Union to distribute through TMAC, part of the Thai Union Group, the feed supplement AQUALA M in Thailand.

AQUALA M contains 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA). Recent studies performed by the company showed that the administration of 5-ALA to vannamei shrimp has a high preventive effect against acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) and promotes growth.

In recent years, AHPND has become a major problem affecting shrimp production in Southeast Asia. “As the world's population grows, the production of shrimp will continue to increase in the future, and we anticipate that shipments of thousand tons of this product will potentially be available,” the company said.
