The agreement that Salmon Group signed with Metapod will be terminated as the startup cannot meet the conditions.

Metapod developed technology to produce insect meal from grasshoppers and crickets and was expected to provide insect meal to be included in salmon and trout feeds. Salmon Group requested a briefing on the status of the project and they found that the industrial volume on which the agreement was based cannot be realized.

“Salmon Group truly believed in this investment and we are of course first and foremost sorry that the project did not succeed and that we cannot make use of this raw material now. We continue to work with alternative raw materials that will further contribute to the sustainable production of salmon and trout,” said Jan Olav Langeland, CEO at Salmon Group.

Salmon Group apologizes for what has occurred and is continuing the search for new, sustainable feed ingredients.
