WeTech won 2019 Aquaculture Innovation Challenge (AIC) for their development of a solar-powered aeration device, taking home a cash and in-kind prize worth $100,000 and the chance to participate in the Hatch Blue accelerator program. Seable’s automatic shrimp feeder for hatcheries was the runner up winning a $10,000 cash prize which was sponsored by the Global Aquaculture Alliance.

Both teams will also travel to this year’s Global Outlook for Aquaculture Leadership (GOAL) in Chennai, India, where they will have the opportunity to network with relevant stakeholders. 

The Aquaculture Innovation Challenge (AIC) aims to find innovators boasting great sustainability solutions that target the Indonesian shrimp industry. 17 applications were chosen to move forward in the competition and 5 promising innovations were invited to the final round. Watch the finals here.
