Arbiom was announced to be the first finalist in the Global Aquaculture Innovation Award 2019. The award recognizes individuals and companies finding new solutions to the key challenges facing aquaculture. There were 41 applications from 20 countries that were submitted this year.

Arbiom mimics the natural process of decomposition of wood through microorganisms – yeast, bacteria or even fungus – that feed off the nutrients in the wood before being processed into a powder-form single-cell protein (SCP) source for animals. The company is steadily proving the efficacy of its alternative feed ingredient, SylPro.

The company and representatives from the other two finalists of the Global Aquaculture Innovation Award will pitch at GAA’s upcoming GOAL conference that will be held from October 21- 24 in Chennai, India, where the audience will vote for the winner. The other two finalists will be announced shortly.
