Still time to register for Online Aquaculture Courses

The Brunswick Community College Division of Continuing Education is still registering students for two ONLINE courses in aquaculture: "Introduction to Aquaculture" and "Advanced Aquaculture". While both courses begin Monday, August 20, interested persons may register through Wednesday, August 29.

These courses run for 16 weeks (through December 9). The courses are self-paced and require about 6 hours per week. The courses and the instructor are available 24/7 for the student’s convenience. The courses may be taken in sequence or simultaneously.

The fee for each course is $175, regardless of state or country of residence. The orientation documents for each course, with descriptions and schedules are attached. Both courses are taught by Dr. Doug Holland, Director of the BCC Center for Aquaculture and Biotechnology. Dr. Holland earned his Ph.D. in the Department of Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures at Auburn University. He owned and operated his own fish farm for 10 years, and has taught aquaculture to hundreds of students during his nearly 20 years at BCC. He has experience in Aquaculture in North America, South America and Africa.
